Calendar for Zilers – September 2015: celebrations for inspiration
Hey Zilers! How was your July? Let’s start this August by already preparing for September, a month that is still warm but gradually touched by the golden colours of the autumn.
Following our monthly post about events throughout Europe, this month we have collected the most important upcoming celebrations in European countries and put in a calendar as a source of inspiration for your next Teezily campaigns!
REMEMBER! We recommend you to launch your campaigns at least one month (considering your campaign will last 10 days or less) before the event in order to make sure your customers receive their products on time!
Due to copyright regulations in Europe, we strongly recommend you not to use any registered trademarks, logos, slogans, official images, as well as people's names and images in your designs!
We see endless series of festivals and parties in Europe this month. But perhaps the most well-known celebration is Oktoberfest. Despite its name, Oktoberfest starts in late September with more than 6 million participants. What to do there? Drink beer, beer and more beer. It’s estimated that about 7 million liters are consumed during the 16-day festival.
Heading to other famous cities in Europe. Barcelona is having its biggest annual festival Festes de la Mercé to celebrate the city's patron saint, with over 500 activities in 4 days. Meanwhile, Venice’s Regata Storica will bring you back to the city’s golden age with its traditional boat racing. 16th century-style boats full of gondoliers in costumes are moving up the Grand Canal. Moving to Scotland, the Scottish Highland Game is an exciting festival full of physical activities such as tug-of-war, caber-tossing and dance competitions as well as solo bagpipes performances. With the attendance of the Royal family, this event is probably the most “Scottish thing” this September.
Let's not forget the celebrations of some minority but influential groups in Europe. This September, Jews worldwide will celebrate the Rosh Hashanah - Jewish New Year while the Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean have their Mid-Autumn Festival. There are about 1.1 million Jews and about 1 million Chinese living in Europe, making it vital for any business to target this audience.
Check out our top picks for this month’s blockbusters:
Maze Runner II: The Scorch Trails, Sep 18
Hotel Transylvania 2: Sep 25
