Some ideas for campaigns about professions
Niches related to jobs and professions are some of the hottest as of right now. Engineers, teachers, chefs, electricians, fire fighters… Some of them are particularly passionate communities with a strong sense of belonging, which is advantageous in two ways:
This is basically why profession campaigns are always a good idea. If you succeed with one profession, you can always scale it and move on to another one! Use for teachers what you learned by targeting engineers!
Let’s talk about what’s important when it comes to this type of campaigns. Of course every profession has its specificities, but most of the ideas below can be easily adapted. Let’s pick the example of electricians.
GENERAL RESEARCH
You have an idea of a niche: electricians. Now, get to know everything you can about electricians! What do they like? What are their main job tools? What makes them angry? Who are their allies and enemies? Do they have nicknames? What do other say about them? Do they have rival professions? Some of these questions may be the key to a hilarious slogan or a magnificent copy they will really appreciate.
Do as much research about electricians as you can and don’t stop until you feel that you are a part of the niche yourself. Once you are ready, go for the design!
CHOOSE DESIGN (*)
Take a look at social media channels such as Pinterest or Twitter; marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay or Etsy; SmallFBTools' Pinziller or Design Finder options or some t-shirt platforms you already know. Find inspiration by typing “t-shirt + niche” , “funny t-shirt + niche” or “best selling + niche”.
(Almost) everything is already there so get inspired! Don’t copy but don’t risk innovating too much either if you don’t have a big budget. The best you can do is to modify an existing design trying to make it catchier by adding something you found in your research.
Basically, there are dozens of general themes that can be adapted to every guild or profession. Small variations are accepted and appreciated!
-Trust me I’m a [niche]
-Always be yourself unless you can be a [niche], then be a [niche]
-This is how a [niche] looks like
-If you think [niche] it’s expensive…
Don’t forget about the niche’s partners: there are also some themes for girlfriends, wives, boyfriends and husbands.
-Real woman/man marry [niche]
-Sleep with a [niche], wake up...
-If you love a [niche] raise your hand
