Daniel Gaiswinkler; the postman who became a professional Ziler
Where are you from? Where do you live? What are your hobbies? What did you do before your Teezily career?
Wow, so many questions at once..
I am from Germany - from the beautiful Eibelhausen, I have been living there for a year now with my wife. My hobbies are family, friends, my faith, music (http://www.gaiswinkler-live.com), online marketing and Youtube video's (http://www.youtube.de/mrgaiswinkler), besides that I read a lot and I like to listen to audiobooks. Before my Teezily career I was a postman for over 15 years. Voor mijn Teezily carrière was ik ruim 15 jaar lang postbode. In addition I've spent four years building my internet business. A lot of hours and holidays have been put into this, I did nothing else than reading, learning and putting it into practice. This has been paying off, for which I am very grateful to God.
Why did you choose to use the Teezily concept?
I don't know any other platform that is better for the European market and I have been earning money with selling T- shirts online since 2007. My journey was almost preprogrammed. I find it very exciting to be involved in a startup and having the possibility to actively contribute to its success. I think the concept is brilliant, because I can work out my ideas and get paid really well at the same time!
Can you tell us something about your first campaign?
I launched my first campaign with the English counterpart of Teezily. Basically, I have done nothing else than transferring my existing designs and selling them via Facebook to particular target audiences. This, however, with not much success. I became succesful when I spoke with some mentors from the United States and studied more. My first succesful campaign was for handball players (my wife played handball for a couple of years, that is where I got the idea from). Then I realized what chance I had before me, that I could do more with this and live from it.
I believe that I paid around €200,- for advertisement costs for 78 sales with a profit margin of over €1700,-. Proud I showed this to my wife and also she couldn't believe it at first.
When my campaigns were getting more succesful, I had to make a choice. Fulltime Teezily, the chance of my life or keep delivering the mail!?
How many campaigns have you launched since you started?
I believe in the meantime around 300.
Which phase did not go as smoothly in the beginning of your Teezily career?
The organisation of the work and rotating this job with my other job. I worked more than 12 hours per day. I got up at 5.20, to launch the campaigns and the advertisements, and answer questions from clients. Then inbetween tasks at the office I moved on with my advertisements and after work I launched new campaigns. With that comes the brainstorming about ideas and concepts and talk these over with my colleagues. Without them, I would not be here right now. I am grateful for that every day.
Do you have a personal story, that connects you to one of your campaigns?
My first campaign was something that I took from my wife. That this one was so succesful, was actually very funny. My wife always supported me with ideas and pointed things out that otherwise I would have never thought of myself. Furthermore I exclusively sell to women, so tips directly from that target group are valuable.
Do you have a useful tip for beginners?
DO NOT GIVE UP! NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS! It does not matter what you do with your life, set goals and do not give up before you have reached them. Get up earlier in the morning and work harder than everyone else, to start and reach your goals.
For succesful campaigns, you only have to do some market research. Of course this takes time in the first place, but it pays off. Try to analyze your target group on Facebook. How does this platform work and how can I reach the right audience there. Always keep your eyes open for everything, analyze newspapers for new niches, search on Google and Amazon. After that you need to take time to come up with good ideas and concepts. The internet is full of new ideas and they adapt and develop themselves perfectly for different target groups. Start to implement your own ideas instead of copying others. Only then the desired success will be achieved. My first real succesful campaign came after 40-50 failures, that is how long you have to persevere.
